Hawaii hotels may have the key to enforcing 14-day quarantine on tourists
Mufi Hannemann, president and CEO of the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, said Royal Grove Waikiki and Kauai Inn in Lihue are not participating because they use hard keys, not electronic ones. Maui Kaanapali Villas initially said they couldn't participate but are now compliant. Grand Naniloa in Hilo on the Big Island also declined.
"They are concerned with some of the lack of communication breakdown that happens with the airport reporting people that are coming here," he said.
